the United Taybeh American Association (UTAA)
The UTAA is a non-profit
organization founded in 1994 to organize and create unity among
natives of Taybeh, Palestine and their ancestry living in the
United States and abroad. Its main purpose is to maintain and
nurture the cultural ties of the people of Taybeh in the United
States and abroad as well as to provide philanthropic services
for the people of Taybeh. This includes funds for college scholarships,
medical supplies, as well as other charitable and social projects
in Taybeh .
Membership in the UTAA
is open to all natives of Taybeh, Palestine and their ancestry
living in the United States and abroad.
The board of directors, elected by the membership, manages the day to day
business of the association and supervises policy enacted by the general assembly.
Elections are held every two years to elect new
officers.
The UTAA's goals are:
- To nurture and enhance
the close ties that exist among all Taybeh people through social
events such as the annual convention.
- To encourage the
Taybeh Youth in the United States and abroad to adopt and cling
to their ancestral language, culture and heritage.
- To provide support
for the people of Taybeh through the funding of Taybeh's various
charitable and social projects.
The UTAA prides itself
on its history of accomplishments in philanthropic and cultural
activities. Since it was established, the UTAA has held its annual
convention in the following cities:

The 2011 convention which was planned to be held in Guatemala has been cancelled due
to security concerns in Guatemala. Please be on the lookout for info regarding 2012 convention and other events
